A Perfect10 - Ubuntu 10.10

I just upgraded the Ubuntu 10.04 netbook installed on my laptop to the all new Ubuntu 10.10. The post transition user experience is absolutely amazing.
Its a 2010ish Os which is very intuitive and looks and feels much better than it's predecessor. Thanks to Unity for all this.(this is what Ubuntu calls the new interface)

Other new additions:-

1) Support for Iphone and Android: There has been a drastic improvement here. Although I did'nt try for an android device but syncing an Iphone got a whole lot better. In a nutshell I did'nt have to log on to YouTube to figure it out.
However, it would have been appreciated if the Os would have been made much more BlackBerry(handheld) friendly.

2) Music streaming to your phone: Ubuntu's music player now also includes an integrated store, which allows you to buy and download new tracks and
Ubuntu One's file-sync allows you to even stream music to your Android device or iPhone. Even here its a thumbs down for BlackBerry handhelds.

3) Me Menu: This is the revamped version of the social networking application that lets you access your Facebook and Twitter accounts straight from the desktop. You can connect to all your favourite chat channels and make updates through a single window.

4) What was the best thing about it, was that all of the drivers (atleast for my lappy) were included in the package. I did'nt have to find the drivers on the internet.

5) Workspaces: The much awaited Workspaces applet is finally available with the netbook version as well. Its been there in the desktop version ever since Ubuntu 7.04 was out. Workspaces are like virtual screens, which you can switch between at any time. Every workspace contains the same desktop, the same panels, and the same menus. However, the best part of it is that you can run different applications, and open different windows in each workspace. The applications in each workspace will remain there when you switch to other workspaces.

The installation took about 15 minutes and once it was completed, it was Rock-a-doodle-do..

P.S: It looks great as of now. Will keep updating here about other new features and glitches, if I come across any.
